Marshall Bennett Students Devise Real-World Action Plans

Family-run real estate companies and large, established property firms alike often struggle with finding time to develop comprehensive management plans. Enter graduate students at Roosevelt University’s Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate, who annually select two to three companies as clients and complete a comprehensive real estate management plan for each.

“Students examine all aspects of a company’s operations, organizational structure, market positioning and more, providing their client with invaluable data and actionable insights,” said Dr. David Funk, Pasquinelli Family chair in real estate and course instructor.

This fall’s clients were Mid-America Asset Management; AMLI/Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; and Mako Properties.

Students in the program are pursuing the Masters of Science in Real Estate as they advance careers in real estate finance, investment, development and related fields. They’re also eligible to use their management plan experience as part of the application for IREM’s Certified Property Manager designation.
