Mars Wrigley Brings Sweet News to Chicago
Mars Wrigley announced that it would locate it new unit, Mars Wrigley Confectionary, in Chicago. The company will be led by Martin Radvan, Wrigley’s current president. Mars bought Chicago-based Wrigley, makers of the famed chewing gum, in 2008. The new unit will be on Goose Island, where Wrigley has its global innovation center.
Mars Wrigley Confectionary will merge management of Mars’ chocolate operation with Wrigley’s chewing gun and related products. The production lines of those operations employ 30,000 globally. Though Mars remains headquartered in McLean, VA, it will close its New Jersey-based chocolate headquarters.
Details on how many jobs are involved with the relocation were not immediately available.
