Marriott International Celebrates Grand Opening of $600M Bethesda HQ
Marriott International has celebrated the grand opening of its new, $600-million global headquarters in downtown Bethesda, MD, where the company has resided for over 60 years.
Marriott International — the world’s largest hotelier and the biggest private sector employer in Montgomery County — will be moving 3,500 employees into the 785,000-square-foot, 22-story, LEEDv4 Gold-certified facility at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue.
“Unveiling our new global headquarters is an exceptional way to celebrate our 95 years of culture and innovation,” said David Marriott, chairman of the board, Marriott International. “This campus honors our storied history and roots in the local community, while showcasing Marriott’s exciting next chapter of growth as we remain dedicated to our purpose of connecting people through the power of travel.”
The building spans 2.25 acres and features 486 offices, 2,346 workstations, 3,232 lockers and 210 conference rooms and amenities including a childcare center, a fitness center, and a cafeteria.
