MarqE Redevelopment to More Effectively Utilize Outdoor Space
Beginning in May 2021, the MarqE redevelopment will unfold in multiple phases through 2022 with the goal of better utilizing the outdoor space. This destination retail asset has a collection of shops, restaurants and services located near Memorial in the Spring Branch District of Houston.
“MarqE has long served as a dynamic destination for family-friendly shopping and dining available in our city,” said Justin Levine, vice president at Levcor. “Modernizing the functionality of MarqE will create a better-connected environment for our guests and retail partners, while updating the aesthetics will create a fresh and inviting center for locals and visitors alike.”
Shaded structures will bridge buildings, existing storefronts will be heightened and updated, oversized art and play structures will be incorporated throughout the redevelopment, and outdoor conversation areas will be equipped with WiFi. As part of the redevelopment, large canopied trees, enhanced hardscape and flower beds will balance the updated exterior architecture. A new two-level building consisting of nearly 49,000 additional square feet of retail/restaurant/entertainment space will also be built to accommodate additional retailers.
