Markwood Project to Include LA’s First Robotic Garage
Beverly Hills-based developer Markwood recently kicked off its 45,500-square-foot mixed-use residential project located at 11701 Santa Monica Blvd. at the crossroads of three Los Angeles neighborhoods: Santa Monica, Sawtelle and Brentwood. Situated along a stretch of West Los Angeles on the corner of West Santa Monica Boulevard and South Barrington Avenue, and designed by Steinberg Hart, the project will house a five-story multifamily community.
The development will include 51 apartment homes, 1,200-square-foot retail space, outdoor amenities and a 30,000-square-foot robotic parking garage – the first of its kind in Los Angeles. The live-work residential units – four of which are dedicated to low-income tenancy – are positioned along Barrington Avenue.
“We worked diligently alongside an experienced design team, leaders in the automated parking industry and community partners to bring to fruition a sustainable, amenity-rich residential mixed-use development with a direct yet respectful connection to its neighborhood surroundings,” says David Wright, CEO at Markwood. “Every inch of this development was designed to maximize the tenant experience, and provide retail and residential occupants alike with a dynamic use of their space.”
