Marcus Partners Files Plans for Life Science Campus in South Boston
Real estate investment, management and development firm Marcus Partners has filed plans for a 228,000-square-foot life science campus project in the South Boston Waterfront neighborhood.
Marcus Partners is planning a 219,000-square-foot life science building on one parcel at the property. On the other parcel, an existing steel manufacturing building will be redeveloped into a 9,000-square-foot amenity building. Ginkgo Bioworks, the organism company, has signed a lease for 150,000 square feet as the anchor tenant at the project.
“We believe deeply that this neighborhood has the right ingredients to continue to retain and attract the world’s leading life science companies and we are excited to play a role in growing the South Boston Waterfront’s life science cluster,” said Patrick Sousa, principal at Marcus Partners. “We look forward to collaborating with the Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park community, city, state and numerous other stakeholders as we advance our plans.”
