Manifold hoping to build two Austin towers

Manifold Gauging Interest in Downtown Austin Towers

One could rise more than 450 feet, and the other could reach nearly 600 feet in height on the east side of the Central Business District, next to the convention center. The two towers are planned to reach a height of 41 floors and 55 floors. Manifold Real Estate hopes to erect them at San Jacinto and Third Street. Rhodes will be performing the design work. The group is seeking approval from the Austin Design Commission.

Plans call for 884,124 gross square feet with 856 apartments, a 216-room hotel, 849 parking spaces on seven levels of above-grade parking, 4,000 square feet of retail space and 24,739 square feet of amenities.

The Austin Business Journal reports Manifold appears to be planning to pay a development bonus fee in lieu of providing affordable housing at the site.

The roughly 0.8-acre site is valued at just over $56 million by Travis Central Appraisal District.
