Manhattan renters had to deal with skyrocketing increases in their rental payments in the first three months of the year, according to data compiled by the rental services firm StreetEasy.

Median rents rose in every neighborhood, the data show. Some of the more sought after neighborhoods saw increases of 25% and more.

The biggest jump according to the data came from Soho and environs where rents soared by more than 50%. Rents are rising at the fastest pace since StreetEasy started compiling information in 2011.
