What Makes a City Favorable?

There are many things to consider when moving to a new city. To find out what aspects matter most, Abodo surveyed 2,000 people born between 1982 and 1998 to determine what it is that millennials seek when settling down in a particular location.

Ranking importance on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the most important), here’s the top five factors, with the full list and more findings at the jump:

1. A thriving job market – 8.19
2. Affordable rent – 7.94
3. Affordable home prices – 7.55
4. Parks or hiking trails – 6.52
5. Restaurants (non-chain) – 6.49

Millennials also ranked the “perfect city” with the top 5 listed below:

1. New York City
2. San Francisco
3. Seattle
4. Portland
5. Los Angeles
