Macquarie Asset Management Launches Senior Housing Platform

Macquarie Asset Management has launched Health Wave Partners, a senior housing platform with a strategy aimed at targeting investments in modern senior housing assets alongside established operators. The company believes the senior housing sector is poised for growth, given a shift in demographics driving demand and a current undersupply.

The platform will be led by a management team including CEO John Cobb, CIO Philip Kayden, COO Elliot Pessis, managing director, finance Sean O’Malley and director of investments Holden Torres. The management team collectively brings more than 75 years of experience in the senior housing sector and has been involved in more than $US50 billion worth of healthcare real estate transactions.

“Health Wave Partners will focus on investing in what it views to be high-quality properties and partner with experienced operators in regions with strong demographic and economic fundamentals,” said Cobb. “We believe our team’s expertise and strategic partnership with Macquarie Asset Management positions us for success and are excited to pursue what we believe is a strong opportunity in the market.”
