LV airport planning expansion

LV Airport Planning Major Expansion

The Las Vegas airport will nearly double its number of gates at Terminal 1, the largest of the airports terminals. The plans calls for a total redesign of the A & B gates in Terminal 1, increasing the number from 39 to 65. The move is designed to create more flight capacity. The plans have yet to be finalized or funded.

The modifications would include a revised ground transportation plan that will better link the two terminals. The airport’s roadway circulation plan would also be modified to improve connectivity between the terminals.

Two near-term and one long-term roadway improvement plan are under study. These plans would preserve the one-way circular motion of airport circulation while preserving airport bypass options. A flyover bridge moving traffic from Paradise Road to the new Terminal 2 is also under consideration.
