Lowe’s, Grocery-Anchored Retail Center Slated for Maricopa
Thompson Thrift Real Estate plans to move ahead on a 200,000-square-foot retail center in Maricopa. The company purchased a 20-acre parcel for $9.5 million last summer.
Lowe’s will make up over half of the retail space with a 109,000-square-foot retail building and a 30,000-square-foot garden center. April is the start date for the Lowe’s construction.
A second construction phase toward the end of the year will include 60,000 square feet, including a grocery store, plus 10,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.
Located at the northeast corner of John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue, the South Bridge Marketplace site is in an area where the daily traffic count reaches approximately 68,000 vehicles per day, according to Thompson Thrift. The John Wayne Parkway provides direct access to Interstate 10 and downtown Phoenix.
The company has more than 20 retail, multifamily and industrial projects in development throughout the state.
