Lowe’s Commits to Manvel Town Center
The Manvel City Council approved a zoning package for the construction of a 140,000-square-foot store with garden center in the Manvel Town Center, which is currently under development on the northwest corner of the intersection of highways 288 and 6.
Lowe’s is expected to open in the third quarter of next year. It will join H-E-B, which opened a year ago, as a major anchor. Other tenants opening in the development are McDonald’s, Whataburger, Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s, a Memorial Hermann urgent care facility and a dental office.
The Weitzman-developed, 273-acre Manvel Town Center started construction in summer 2021. It is designed to house more than 1 million square feet of retail, entertainment, hospitality, medical and office space.
The Houston Business Journal reports Weitzman and the city of Manvel are also in preliminary talks with Target Corp. Once complete, the Manvel Town Center will be one of the largest open-air shopping centers in Greater Houston and the largest project ever for Weitzman.
