Loop Alliance Gathers Experts on Meeting Talent’s Demand for Perks

When the owners of a 15-year-old class A office tower undertake a $100-million capital improvements program, it’s clear that attracting and retaining employees is a different ballgame than it was even a few years ago. With that in mind, the Chicago Loop Alliance will present “The Talent Equation = Space + Amenities + Neighborhood” Thursday evening at the Merchandise Mart, the first in the alliance’s 2018 Downtown Futures Series.

“Team members are expecting more perks from their companies than ever before,” said Kevin Willer of Chicago Ventures, a panelist at Thursday’s event. “They hear about what the big tech companies provide, and are looking for the companies here in Chicago that offer similar perks.”

Other experts scheduled to discuss the topic include Tim Handorf, cofounder and CEO at G2 Crowd,; Maggie Brophy, leasing director for the Telos Group; and Eddie Lou, executive chairman and co-founder of Shiftgig.
