Longview’s Fritz’s Restaurant to Close

A downturn in the oil industry and new restaurant competition has led to the August 12 closing of Fritz’s, a fine-dining restaurant at 105 Ruthlynn Dr. in Longview, TX.

Fritz and Barbie Kirl opened and operated Fritz’s in 2005. Fritz Kirl said he’d begun noticing a downturn at the beginning of this year, and fought it for seven months. “The economy started to go bad, and a restaurant opening every week,” he said.

The restaurant specializes in Cajun, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant also had a no-child policy, per codes set by the city of Longview.
