Longview Mall Renovation Completed

Washington Prime Group (formerly W.P. Glimcher) has completed its $16 million renovation of the 638,000-square-foot Longview Mall in Longview, TX. The 40-year-old mall, located on McCann Road, underwent upgrades to interiors and exteriors, with space carved out for a Dick’s Sporting Goods and an H&M clothing store.

Open in 1978, Longview Mall once belonged to Simon Property Group, which spun off strip centers and smaller enclosed malls into Washington Prime Group. In 2014, Washington Prime acquired Glimcher Realty.

According to documents on the company’s website, Washington Prime Group has been making capital investments in what it calls Tier 1 malls, of which Longview Mall is one. The Tier 1 properties have higher occupancies and sales per square foot than Tier 2 properties.
