Long Island Tops NYC to Host ’24 World Club Cricket Cup 

New York City’s bid to host the 2024 World Club Cricket Cup has been defeated, with Nassau County’s Eisenhower Park being selected instead.  

The city’s proposal to use Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx faced opposition from local leaders who didn’t want their green space converted into a temporary cricket stadium. The failure of the city’s Bronx bid was celebrated by some borough leaders who opposed the idea.  

America will co-host the June 4-30 tournament with the West Indies, marking the first time the US will stage a global cricket event as the sport seeks to expand its footprint.
