Logos Faith Development Receives $500K Grant from Roy and Patricia Disney Foundation
Logos Faith Development (LOGOS) has received a Program Related Investment today of more than $500,000 from the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation (RPDFF) that will help it convert underutilized churches and adjacent lots into affordable housing in South Los Angeles.
The capital infusion will support LOGOS, a Los Angeles-based social impact real estate firm, in the pre-development of a new 24-unit, 100% affordable apartment complex designed to serve low-income households and Section 8 voucher holders in historic South LA. The development is slated to begin construction in 2026.
“We are honored to receive this funding and show of support and validation for LOGOS from such an iconic foundation,” said Pastor Martin Porter, founder and CEO. “We think this is the beginning of a great partnership between our two organizations to get into the breach and solve the lack of affordable housing in the region. Together is better!”
Added Shawn Escoffery, CEO of the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation, “We believe that safe, secure, and affordable housing is the cornerstone of any thriving community. In a time when housing costs are displacing far too many Angelenos, we are proud to support LOGOS Faith Development and their innovative approach to converting underutilized land into housing opportunities for those who need them most. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to housing affordability and long-term community stability in South Los Angeles and beyond.”
Be there for insights from Pastor Martin Porter and other multifamily industry leaders on Sept. 11, when Connect Conferences will hold a nationwide in-person event. Register here for Connect Apartments 2025, taking place in Los Angeles at the Fairmont Century Plaza.
