Logistics Property Strikes Again, Nabs Southport Logistics Park
Less than a week after announcing plans to develop the CityPark Logistics Center, Logistics Property Co. widened its Texas footprint by acquiring the 252-acre Southport Logistics Park south of downtown Dallas. The Chicago-based industrial investor and developer struck a deal with Port Logistics Realty and Diamond Realty Investments for the master-planned logistics park off Interstate 45, in Wilmer, TX.
At build-out, Southport will hold more than 8.6 million square feet. The development currently has a 400,000-square-building leased to Amazon Inc. and a 1.1-million-square-foot, for-lease facility. Kacy Jones and John Hendricks with CBRE are handling marketing and leasing.
“We’re pleased to announce Southport Logistics Park as the first of several scalable, state-of-the-art logistics developments in Dallas,” said Logistics Property’s Kent Newsom. “Our business model allows for further expansion of Southport Logistics Park, and we’re delighted to be marketing it for lease and build-to-suit with CBRE.”
