Logistics Pointe Renovation Leads to Increased Cold Storage
Westmount Realty Capital is close to completing its renovation of Logistics Pointe Garland for incoming tenant Kraft Heinz Co. Owner Westmount’s improvement of the 90,000-square-foot, infill facility included raising the roof 15 feet, upgrading the sprinkler system and installing a heated floor. The result will be greater cold-storage capabilities for the tenant.
Logistics Pointe Garland at 2600 McCree Rd. in Garland, TX, began life as a large-scale grocery distribution center. The three-building complex totals 1.1-million square feet, which includes 298,119 square feet of freezer/cooler space. “Conversion of urban logistics facilities to meet current cold storage requirements is complex and can take up to six months to complete,” said Westmount’s Cliff Booth.
Kraft Heinz announced its lease at Logistics Pointe Garland in June, and plans to move into the newly renovated space shortly.
