Logistics Company Signs Massive Chicago Warehouse Lease

Cushman & Wakefield has arranged a full-building industrial lease totaling 1.6 million square feet at 701 Central Ave. in University Park, Illinois. Cushman & Wakefield’s Sean Henrick and Ryan Klink represented the landlord, W. P. Carey, in the lease negotiations, while Jason West, Lou D’Avanzo, and Adam Cooke represented the undisclosed tenant.

“This is one of the largest lease deals executed under one roof in the Midwest region in some time,” said Sean Henrick, Cushman & Wakefield Vice Chair. “It emphasizes the strength of the Chicago industrial market as a core distribution location.”

The building’s location offers proximity to key transportation infrastructure and is within a day’s drive of 26 cities throughout the Midwest, Northeast and Canada. W. P. Carey made key investments into the building to transform an outdated portfolio asset into a state-of-the-art facility that conforms to today’s market standards while reducing the overall carbon footprint of the building.
