L&L Tops Out at 390 Madison Ave.
Workers lifted the final steel beam to the top of 390 Madison Ave. on Oct. 18, topping out an ambitious plan to add eight new floors to an office tower originally built in mid-20th-Century in Midtown Manhattan.
The project is a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to completely re-invent an office building that incorporates the best in modern amenities, views and outdoor spaces, as well as state-of-the-art-connectivity and green technology,” said Robert Lapidus, chief investment officer for L&L Holding Co.
The original building was 24-stories tall. When it’s finished in 2018, the tower will rise 32-stories with massive, light-filled, column-free spans, high ceilings, modern infrastructure, a new façade of transparent, floor-to-ceiling glass and 13 outdoor terraces.
