Life Science Space Coming to Lincoln Yards Mega-Project

As the initial step in developing an expansive medical innovation district at Lincoln Yards, Sterling Bay on Thursday announced the first onsite life science building at the upcoming mega-project. Designed by Gensler, the 320,000-square-foot development will provide Chicago’s rapidly growing life science community with lab space along the North Branch of the Chicago River.

The announcement was made simultaneously with word that the owner-developer had signed molecular technology company Evozyne LLC to 30,000 square feet at 2430 N. Halsted, the first acquisition of Sterling Bay’s recently launched life science division, The Labs. CBRE’s David Saad represented Sterling Bay in leasing negotiations.

“Evozyne moving into 2430 N Halsted is yet another sign that Chicago is an emerging leader in life sciences,” said Andy Gloor, CEO of Sterling Bay. “Sterling Bay is committed to developing leasable, high-quality lab space so that forward-thinking life science companies like Evozyne have a place to grow.”
