Breakthrough to Build life science campus in Boulder

Life Science Developer to Build Boulder Project

Breakthrough Properties has acquired 9.3 acres in order to construct a four-building life science campus in Boulder. The company is planning a 164,000 square foot office, lab and flex development named Boulder 38 by Breakthrough. Breakthrough Properties is joining forces with Tishman Speyer and Bellco Capital.

Located at 38th Street and Arapahoe Avenue, the campus is one mile away from the Jennie Smith Carruthers Biotechnology Building, a 400,000 square-foot research and technology facility at the University of Colorado, Boulder campus.

Tishman Speyer’s Paul DeMartini says the area is a going concern, “Boulder has succeeded in cultivating a unique ecosystem propelled by leading research and academic institutions, creative residents and premier outdoor recreational amenities.”

The project is being capitalized by the Breakthrough Life Science Property Fund, which has raised $3 billion in direct capital and co-investments.
