Liberty National Completes Land Assemblage, Plans 40-Story Tower in San Diego
Liberty National Corporation acquired a 0.69-acre site in downtown San Diego’s East Village from the Salvation Army and plans to develop a 40-story mixed-use project. The site at Park Boulevard and Broadway is part of a larger assemblage of properties totaling 1.38 acres previously acquired by Liberty that is envisioned as a new Class A project with 640 residential units and commercial space.
Liberty National’s Randy Williams says, “The site is a strategic acquisition, given our interests in the area and its location at the juncture of two major entries into the downtown core on the high activity Broadway and Park Boulevard corridors.”
The project includes a 400-foot tall high-rise residential tower with two mid-rise podium buildings of six and seven stories. The plan includes nearly 40,000 square feet of common outdoor open space, residential storage areas, and open pet space for residents.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Tim Winslow, Jason Kimmel and Kevin Nolen advised on the sale.
