Liberty Divests Philly Navy Yard Asset to Korean Investors for $130M
Korea Investment Management (KIM) acquired 5 Crescent Drive, a 208,000-square-foot office building in Philadelphia’s Navy Yard submarket from Liberty Property Trust for $130 million.
The four-story office building and an adjacent surface parking area was completed in 2013 by Liberty, and is fully leased to global pharmaceutical leader GlaxoSmithKline, plc through 2028. The property received the first double LEED Platinum rating from the USGBC in Philadelphia.
Coretrust Capital Partners, LLC advised KIM. CBRE’s Robert J. Fahey, Jr., represented Liberty Property.
The deal is the second property acquisition for KIM in Philadelphia, following its February 2016 purchase of the 870,000-square-foot Cira Square in University City. KIM is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings, Co., Ltd.
