Lewis Group Sponsors New Sustainable Real Estate Research
Legacy investor in CRE – and longtime Inland Empire philanthropist – Randall Lewis is donating $10 million to a Washington, DC-based think tank, with a specific goal attached: sustainable real estate development.
The newly named ULI Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate replaces the recipient, formerly known as the Urban Land Institute’s Center for Sustainability.
Lewis, EVP for the Upland-based Lewis Group of Companies, gave the record donation to the Urban Land Institute’s Center for Sustainability, since renamed the, the San Bernardino Sun reported.
Lewis is an heir to a homebuilding and commercial real estate dynasty created by Ralph and Goldy Lewis, according to the San Bernardino Sun newspaper. The Lewis family, over the years, has built 58,000 homes and developed 24 million square feet of industrial space in addition to more than 24,000 residential lots.
