Lewis Group Opens Second NorCal Rental-Home Community in West Sacramento

Independence in West Sacramento, a new gated community of 208 townhome-style rental homes developed by Lewis Apartments, opened its leasing office and model homes to the public on Saturday, Oct. 24. Located in West Sacramento’s Southport/Bridgeway Island area, Independence introduces rental homes designed for residents who want the space and privacy of a single-family home without the responsibilities and costs of homeownership.

Independence in West Sacramento is Lewis’ second Independence rental-home community in Northern California, following Independence in Dixon in 2025. Building on the momentum of the Dixon and West Sacramento communities, Lewis plans to expand the Independence concept to additional Northern California markets, with future communities planned in Folsom, Vacaville, Fairfield, Newark and other locations.

“The success of Independence in Dixon showed us there is strong demand for rental homes that offer more space, privacy and the features people value in a home, without giving up the flexibility and convenience of renting,” said Randall Lewis of Lewis Group of Companies.
