Levity Relocates, Expands Brea Comedy Club

Los Angeles-based Levity Entertainment Group plans to relocate and expand its Brea Improv into the Old Navy building, a few doors from its existing comedy club that opened in 2002 in downtown Brea, CA. The new 25,000-square-foot, 582-seat club will feature advanced technology and a new design that’s a mix of industrial and art deco architecture.

Brea Improv will have theater-style seating, a larger stage and two restaurants, including Copper Blues, a new, American-style restaurant and bar, and likely a steakhouse. The new club will allow the operators to book a wider range of entertainment acts that appeal to millennials, such as YouTube stars and competitive video gamers, as well as offering an expanded comedy lineup.

Brea’s planning commission approved Brea Improv’s conditional use permit. Levity plans to take control of the new space early next year, and expects to open in December 2017.
