Let’s Talk: Personal Airport Work Booths
Have you ever found yourself in an airport, seeking a quiet place to have a business call? New York’s LaGuardia Airport debuted a new concept called Jabbrrbox, which could be the answer you need.
Co-founded by Brian Hackathorn, Jabbrrbox is a rentable windowed booth that provides access to wifi, USB charging, audio speakers, flight trackers and mood lighting. For just $10 per 15 minutes or $15 for 30 minutes, this private airport phone booth marries privacy and technology in a crowded space, to solve a modern-day problem for many travelers.
Rather than replacing the airport lounge experience, these pods are designed to offer a quiet space for a call or business meeting. Hackathorn explains, “They can go out of the lounge, use a Jabbrrbox, and then go back into the lounge for their free cocktail and a place to sit. So I think it’s truly an adjacency.”
The creators are hoping this concept will roll out to other airports, and also be installed in commercial buildings and used in hospitality.
