Leon Capital Begins Construction on Tallahassee MXU Project

Dallas-based investment company Leon Capital Group commenced construction on the redevelopment of Tallahassee’s Market Square. The mixed-use project will begin with the renovation of two buildings, as well as a complete renovation of the Prime Meridian Bank building, culminating with the opening of the Cinépolis Theater in Fall 2020.

Once completed, the revamped Market Square will contain 110,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, cinema, hotel and office space. Located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Thomasville Road, Market Square is approximately three miles north of Florida State University. O’Connor Capital Partners has been tapped to handle leasing at the project.

“As Florida’s capital city, Tallahassee is ripe with opportunity for a walkable, urban mixed-use district, and that is exactly what we are planning with this redevelopment of Market Square,” said Will Tolliver, managing director at Leon Capital Group. “We chose to partner with O’Connor to help bring the best tenants for Market Square to be the premier shopping area for Tallahassee residents and visitors.”
