Lendlease’s Cooper at Southbank Opens to Renters

The first move-ins are underway at The Cooper at Southbank, Lendlease’s first Chicago project as both developer and builder. Located at 720 S. Wells St. in the South Loop, the 29-story, 452-unit apartment tower is one of five residential buildings planned in Southbank, Lendlease’s seven-acre development along the Chicago River.

“What distinguishes The Cooper from other new-construction offerings in the Chicago rental market is the broad spectrum of floor plans we have provided,” said Justin Patwin, project director for Southbank at Lendlease. “From studios to townhomes and everything in between, The Cooper features apartments at a wide variety of price points, adding to the tower’s appeal.”

Another differentiator, Patwin said, is 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor features, with the entire sixth floor devoted to amenities. When the penthouse is completed in 2019, it will feature a chef’s kitchen and private dining room, along with an adjacent rooftop event space.
