Lendlease Wraps Up Work on First Southbank Tower

Lendlease has completed construction on the Cooper at Southbank, the first of seven residential towers planned for the seven-acre Southbank development in the South Loop. It marks the first Chicago project both built and developed by Lendlease.

The final phase of construction on the Cooper at Southbank, at 720 S. Wells St., entailed the completion of 26 rental townhomes, six penthouse apartments and penthouse-level amenities. “The Cooper’s townhomes offer multiple levels of living space, making them ideal for those who desire more separation and privacy for living, dining and sleeping areas,” said Tom Weeks, Lendlease’s executive general manager of development.

Both the townhomes and penthouse apartments will offer views of Southbank Park, on which Lendlease recently began construction. The park is designed to include a proposed water taxi stop that will provide a link to downtown.
