Lendlease to spend $110M on SOUTHCOM housing

Lendlease to Build SOUTHCOM Army Housing Project

If you talk to a vet, they rarely speak glowingly about the accommodations they must endure during their term of service. If you’re part of the Army’s US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) group, things may change.

Lendlease will build the U.S. Army’s first new privatized housing project since 2010, a $110 million development in Doral, Fla. The SOUTHCOM development will include approximately 75 family housing units and 60 two-bedroom apartments for unaccompanied service members. The military housing community will be constructed near the U.S. Southern Command on approximately 51 acres of land.

Lendlease recently closed ground leases at seven U.S. Army installations, establishing the Cadence Communities portfolio. Following the deal, the developer will move forward with development, construction, maintenance, operations and asset management activities of the Cadence Communities portfolio.
