LeFrak City Gets $70M Renovation — and a Swimming Pool

LeFrak City, the giant, master-planned community in Queens, NY, received a giant $70 million make-over.

Extensive landscaping by Matthew Nielsen Landscape Architects includes a new, resident-only pool, a soccer field, a putting green, a tennis court and a basketball court, in addition to playgrounds and game areas.

The massive scale of the renovation is just right for LeFrak City, which includes 20 residential buildings and a total of 4,600 apartments. That works out to about $15,000 in renovations per unit. The buildings received new lobbies and corridors. The renovation also added solar panels and energy efficiency measures, new parking decks and new infrastructure.
