Leasing Momentum Continues at Midtown’s Park Central Mall Redev
District Medical Group’s Children’s Rehabilitative Services renewed a 56,000-square-foot lease at Park Central Mall in midtown Phoenix. The first large-scale mall in Phoenix is in the midst of a major redevelopment to transform the property into a 500,000-square-foot mixed-use office project.
Plaza Companies and Holualoa Companies are co-developing the former mall at 3110 N. Central Ave., which is nearing completion of the first phase of redevelopment. The property’s expansive parking lot is being built-out, including Dinerstein Companies’ nine-story, 278-unit apartment complex and a dual-branded 207-room Home2 Suites/Tru by Hilton project now under design.
Citywide Commercial’s Bo Sederstrom, who represented District Medical Group, says, “Park Central is quickly becoming a major new medical hub in Phoenix, both for education and for patient services.” Creighton University is building a $100 million health sciences campus at Park Central, and West Coast Ultrasound Institute took 20,000 square feet at the property.
