Leasing Activity Accelerates at The Bloc

DTLA’s The Bloc signed leases totaling more than 300,000 square feet of office space, including seven new deals at the 1.8-million-square-foot property. The latest group of tenants to call the open-air, urban center home include KPFF, PlaceWorks, Krug Furniture, One Medical, MediaAlpha, Arc Capital Partners and Mance Media.

The milestone comes as the mixed-use property’s redevelopment transformation nears completion, and it prepares to unveil two new bespoke features, including the city’s first direct Metro portal and a classic Southern California rooftop lounge.

CBRE’s Chris Penrose, who handles office leasing for the property along with Jeff Pion, Deron White, and John Zanetos, notes The Bloc achieved 13% absorption of Class A office space for the total downtown area over the last three quarters, despite having only 4% of the total leasable space.
