Lease Exemplifies Flight to Quality Trend in Post-COVID World
Sunroad Enterprises recently signed an approximately 40,000-square-foot lease at Sunroad Centrum, an 11-story class-A office tower in central San Diego. The project’s newest tech tenant, AppFolio, a mobile property management software provider, signed a long-term deal to occupy the first and second floors of the 279,800-square-foot tower located at 8620 Spectrum Center Blvd. in the city’s Kearny Mesa submarket.
“We are thrilled to welcome AppFolio as our newest tenant to the project, especially given the pause office leasing had taken during the pandemic. It is a significant positive indicator that such a premier tech tenant would select Sunroad Centrum,” said Dan Feldman, president of Sunroad Enterprises.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Derek Hulse and Brett Ward represented the landlord in the transaction.
“Sunroad Centrum is a premier class-A office property offering companies unparalleled access and a highly visible location situated directly along Route 163 with above-market parking, onsite amenities and proximity to an abundance of multifamily options for employees,” Hulse adds. “We currently have proposals and interest on the entirety of the building, demonstrating how strong tenant demand is for the well-located highly amenitized class-A projects, indicating a flight-to-quality in the post-pandemic environment.”
Ownership is in the process of completing updates.

Brown is a frequent speaker at industry events and an editing adjunct professor for an online course. She has a master’s degree in mass communications from San Jose State University.
