Le Meridien to Debut in Fort Lauderdale

The Le Meridien hotel brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. is set to debut in the Dania Beach area of Fort Lauderdale. The 2017 hotel opening will take place following a $30 million renovation.

Developer Charles S. Cohen, of Cohen Brothers Realty Corp. in New York City, is partnering with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to convert and rebrand the current Sheraton Airport hotel at 1825 Griffin Rd. The Sheraton is scheduled to close in June, and will be part of Cohen’s 40-acre Design Center of the Americas Campus in Dania Beach..

Following its renovation, the Le Meridien Fort Lauderdale Airport hotel will have 245 rooms and suites, and offer two redesigned restaurants. The hotel will be the second to have the flag; Le Meridien Tampa is at 601 N. Florida Ave.
