Lawyers in Real Estate 2020: Blackstone’s Patrick Kassen

Patrick Kassen is a Managing Director in the Real Estate group at Blackstone in New York City, and Real Estate chief compliance officer focused on legal and compliance matters.

Before joining Blackstone in late 2017, Kassen was with Equity International in Chicago for nine years. He served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Equity, where he managed the compliance program and handled fund formations and governance, acquisitions and dispositions of investments and tax structuring.

From 2001 to 2008, Kassen was an associate focused on corporate and real estate transactions at the law firms Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York and Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago.

It’s for these reasons that we named Patrick Kassen to our inaugural grouping of Lawyers in Real Estate. These are real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in both their practice and the larger community.
