Just 43, Duncan Miller is the chair of Morris, Manning & Martin (MMM) LLP’s Commercial Real Estate Practice in Atlanta. MMM’s Real Estate group represents some of the largest real estate organizations across the country.

In addition to leading the entire department, Miller is a partner in its Real Estate Development and Finance, Hospitality, Commercial Finance, Commercial Real Estate Debt Management and Real Estate Capital Markets Practices. He has represented developers, financial institutions and investors in all phases of commercial real estate transactions including financing, acquisitions, dispositions, lending and development of hotels, office, apartments, condominiums, industrial and retail. He also has extensive experience representing lenders in acquisition, construction and permanent financing for hotel development throughout the U.S.

Since 2008, Miller has spent considerable amounts of time representing national private equity funds, local owner/operators and lenders in all phases of the acquisition, workout and disposition of commercial real estate distressed debt. His experience has proven invaluable to both traditional real estate companies that have only been able to find value in the distressed debt markets and for national private equity funds that want local representation and local knowledge.

Additionally, Miller has extensive experience representing lenders in commercial workouts. As a member of MMM’s Commercial Real Estate Debt Management practice, he provides legal support and practical business advice to real estate lenders and owners with respect to their real estate loans.

It’s for these reasons that we named Duncan Miller to our inaugural grouping of Lawyers in Real Estate. These are real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in both their practice and the larger community.
