Law Firm Signs Lease as First Tenant in Renovated Tower

After making a bet on the future of the downtown Chicago office market, Vancouver, Canada-based Onni Group has landed its first tenant at the firm’s newly redeveloped office tower at 225 W. Randolph Street, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.

Law firm Neal Gerber & Eisenberg has signed a lease for 90,000 square feet across three floors in the 853,000-square-foot landmark building. The firm will relocate in 2025 from its current space at 2 N. LaSalle Street after that lease expires.

CBRE’s Todd Lippman and Kyle Kamin negotiated the new lease on behalf of Neal Gerber & Eisenberg. Onni was represented by Jack O’Brien and Matt Whipple of Telos Group.

Onni paid $166 million for the 31-story tower in 2021 with plans to overhaul the property, which was designated as a city landmark due to its history as a hub of the former Bell Telephone Company.
