Law Firm Ogletree Deakins to Expand, Relocate DC Office

Global labor and employment law firm Ogletree Deakins plans to leave its current D.C. office at 1909 K St. NW and move into a larger space nearby.

The firm signed a lease to relocate to 24,000 square feet at 1776 Eye St. NW, increasing its footprint from 19,630 square feet, reported the Washington Business Journal. Ogletree Deakins will move to the new office in March of 2027.

Known as Republic Place, the 225,000-square-foot building at 1776 Eye is owned by New York-based Rockrose Development Corp. The 10-story building sits across the street from the Farragut West Metro station, a few blocks north of the White House.

According to Transwestern’s recent Washington Law Firm Tenancy Report, law firms accounted for 23% oftotal leasing activity during 2025, up from 19% in 2024 and well ahead of the 10-year average at 16%.
Law firms remain among the most resilient office tenants, according to the report, with a pronounced flight-to-quality trend continuing to shape leasing.
