Law Firm Debevoise Takes 530K SF at Tishman Speyer’s Spiral

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP will relocate its firm’s headquarters to the Spiral, the 65-story office tower now under construction on Manhattan’s Far West Side, developer Tishman Speyer said Tuesday. The law firm will occupy 530,000 square feet under a 20-year lease.

The Debevoise deal brings the Spiral to 54% pre-leased more than two-and-a-half years ahead of the 2.8-million-square-foot tower’s scheduled completion.  Pfizer previously announced that it would relocate its global headquarters to 800,000 square feet there, while AllianceBernstein committed to 189,000 square feet in 2019.

“The Spiral, with its cascading gardens and collaborative spaces, will be unlike any other office environment in New York,” said Tishman Speyer president and CEO Rob Speyer.

Tishman Speyer was represented in-house while Debevoise was advised by NKF’s Moshe Sukenik, Chris Mongeluzo and Brian Cohen. Debevoise is expected to move from its current offices at 919 Third Ave. in the second half of 2022.
