Laurus Completes $12M Carmel Highlands Hotel Reno

Los Angeles-based Laurus Corporation completed a $12-million renovation of Hotel Karlan San Diego, a DoubleTree by Hilton, located in the exclusive Carmel Highlands community. The repositioning included a total rebranding and revitalization of the 174-room, resort style property, which was separated from an adjacent 114-acre, underperforming golf asset in September.

Hotel improvements include remodeled guest rooms, a new dining concept and gastropub, completely upgraded state-of-the-art spa with fitness center, and upgraded pool with outdoor cabanas. The property also offers Karlan’s Pups, an extensive pet welcome program featuring several on-site areas where dogs can play, as well as dog-friendly dining options.

Laurus Corp.’s Ameya Shinde says, “These renovations provide a more pleasurable experience for our guests and restaurant patrons, and position Hotel Karlan as a true leader among the resort hotels in the area.”
