Latham & Watkins Takes Two Floors at RXR’s 1285 Ave. of the Americas

Latham & Watkins LLP has signed a 12-year lease to occupy two full floors, approximately 120,000 square feet, at RXR’s 1285 Ave. of the Americas. This is part of the firm’s expansion of its New York City real estate portfolio beyond its current location at 1271 Ave. of the Americas, driven by strong and anticipated continued growth.

The deal follows Ropes & Gray’s relocation to 1285 Ave. of the Americas, where it will occupy more than 535,000 square feet beginning in 2028. Both deals further underscore the power the legal industry is showing in the Manhattan office market.

Latham & Watkins was represented by Scott Gamber, Craig Reicher, and Emily Chabrier of CBRE. RXR was represented in-house by William Elder and Daniel Birney.

“1285 Avenue of the Americas is a trophy property, featuring best-in-class tenants in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. We look forward to Latham & Watkins’ tenancy and welcoming future tenants of this caliber to the building,” said William Elder, EVP and managing director of RXR’s New York City division.
