Latham & Watkins Heads West to Sixth Ave.
Latham & Watkins is relocating its New York offices to the Rockefeller Group’s 1271 Ave. of the Americas. Currently located at 885 Third Ave., the global law firm will occupy 10 floors totaling 407,000 square feet at 1271 Sixth Ave. beginning in 2020.
Latham & Watkins’ Michèle Penzer said many factors went into relocating the firm’s largest office, including its central Midtown location, “architectural significance and top-quality renovations, coupled with the opportunity to design a new office.”
Rockefeller Group’s New York head of leasing, SVP Ed Guiltinan, called Latham & Watkins “a preeminent and highly respected global law firm,” and “an outstanding addition to the building’s impressive tenant roster.”
The tenant was represented by CBRE’s Scott Gamber and Craig Reicher. A separate CBRE team of Mary Ann Tighe, Howard Fiddle, John Maher, Sarah Pontius, Evan Haskell and Dave Caperna represented ownership, along with Rockefeller Group’s Guiltinan and Jennifer Stein.
