Latest Design Concepts Unveiled for Taylor Yard
The City of Los Angeles is currently reviewing three preliminary design concepts for 42-acre Taylor Yard G2 River Park Project. The G2 Parcel is one portion of the original 244-acre property and the last piece in the puzzle that will connect more than 100 acres of open space along the L.A. River in the center of Los Angeles.
Community input is being sought on the ideas, as the Bureau of Engineering moves forward toward full development of the Los Angeles River revitalization.
The concepts include:
Island: A plan that creates an island to separate river flows, mimic split flow channels, and provide multiple layers of riparian and upland habitat, and is consistent with the objectives of the city. (pictured)
Soft Edge: A concept that creates a soft-edged river on the east bank with a significant amount of new riparian and upland habitat consistent with the objectives of ARBOR. The existing river channel would be modified to create a series of terraces.
The Yards: A plan that would maintain the river bank in its current configuration, with the park developed east of the existing LADWP power lines along the river bank, providing riparian and upland habitat.
