Rio Hotel to be revamped/rebranded

Las Vegas’s Rio Hotel Revamped/Rebranded

Phase I of Rio Hotel & Casino’s renovation program should be completed by this fall. Additionally, the hotel has joined Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s World of Hyatt loyalty program.

The $350 million redevelopment package for the Rio includes the refurbishing of all of the 1,500 suites in the resort’s Ipanema Tower, one floor at a time, so that the property remains open during the work. The entire casino floor will be refreshed, as well as the 150,000-square-foot pool area and a number of food outlets. The company will redesign the guest check-in process.

After Phase I is complete, renovation is scheduled for the 1,000-suite Masquerade Tower and five or six food outlets there. The company will eliminate its buffets in favor of developing a food court concept.

Rio Hotel & Casino, which is owned and operated by Dreamscape, will mark the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada and the third Hyatt hotel in the Las Vegas area.
