Universal Orlando Acquires 101 Acres in Orlando’s Tourism Corridor
Universal Orlando acquired Orlando Distribution Center, one of Southwest Orlando’s last available land sites zoned for industrial development, for $27.5 million. The 101-acre property is located on the southeast quadrant of West Sand Lake Road and Perimeter Road, and offers 4,000 linear feet of frontage on West Sand Lake Road.
CBRE’s David Murphy, Robert McEwan, and Monica Wonus represented the seller, Highlands REIT
Murphy says, “In 20 years of transacting industrial property in Central Florida, I have never seen the demand we saw for this site. In the end, it was Universal’s ability to close immediately that allowed it to win the bidding process.”
Universal Orlando plans to use the newly acquired land for its new theme-park projects in Orlando, adding to the 475 acres already assembled.
